Camden / Rockport
Well-loved by visitors and residents alike, the towns of Camden and Rockport were one until 1890. Even though governed separately today, they are essentially the same town combined with village center a mile apart. The mountains tumble down to meet the ocean's edge, creating some of the best views and hiking opportunities in the state.
The towns of Camden & Rockport each have a rich maritime heritage and an impressive resident fleet of classic windjammers. A truly unique way to explore mid-coast Maine is aboard one of these antique ships. You can sail from Camden Harbor on the Schooners Surprise or Olad, and the Heron from Rockport Harbor. To get a bit closer to the water, try a kayak tour. There are a number of companies that offer day and overnight trips leaving from Camden or Rockport Harbor or on nearby Megunticook Lake. Epicureans will delight in this area's many dining options from classic New England fare to modern French. Experience Maine's first vineyard at Lincolnville's Cellardoor Winery, where they create nearly two dozen delicious, handcrafted grape and blueberry wines. You can enjoy free tastings at their villa in Rockport.

Working with On the Water in Maine was incredible. Excellent communication, ease of check in/out. Thanks so much for allowing pets, our dogs our are family!
Our house was perfect for us (a couple), and would be well suited for a single family with maybe two children, but no more than that. We wished there was another bathroom, but understand that in these charming older homes, often there is only one. King bed was super comfortable with nice quality linens. The kitchen appeared to be well appointed, but we did not cook during our stay. Super nice hardwood floors, tastefully decorated. The wicker chair in the living room was very nice looking, but VERY uncomfortable while sitting in it for anything more than a half hour or so. New, more supportive cushions would be a nice consideration. The burlap drapes are a nice rustic touch, but some blinds or shades for privacy would be a great addition, especially on the front door. The heat and air conditioning worked perfectly as did all other appliances. Excellent property for the price!

I cannot say enough about how nice it was to rent through On the Water in Maine. I have rented many homes, and this agency was by far the best to work with. The caretaker of the homes, Ben was great. He answered immediately when we had a question, and was right there if we needed anything.
We stayed at 40 Sea Street for the Camden Film Festival. There were 4 of us, and we all enjoyed the house very much. It is a short walk into town, so no need of a car into Camden. The kitchen was perfect for us, cooking meals at home. There is a large table to eat, and plenty of room to relax in the living room and porch. The only down side was the small bunk bed room. The two women who shared that room were not that comfortable. I think the house is perfect for two couples, and children in the bunk room, but not adults in that room. The King and Queen bedrooms were very comfortable. We had one bathroom, but worked that out fine. Everything you could want was there, and we would definitely rent this house again.
