Property Description
DOGS PERMITTED? Sorry, dogs are not permitted at this property.
Great Pines is one of the largest rental properties on Megunticook Lake and everything a traditional Maine lakeside retreat should be. Set in the oldest developed section of the lake, near the dam, it brings together White Pines and Little Pines, which sit on the same property and are also rented separately, so your whole group of up to 12 can enjoy it all together. (Visit each individual listing for even more photos!)
White Pines is one of the only rentals on the lake with a lawn leading right down to the water, and its flat yard leads to a deep-water dock. Next door, cozy Little Pines practically hangs over the lake, with a dock ramp to the swim float connected right to its front porch. Both homes have been thoughtfully updated, including new mattresses, a new dock ramp and swim float, a picnic table, and grills. Spend your days swimming and boating from the two docks, and gather around the firepit in the evening. Downtown Camden is just 3 miles away, and the sandy town beach at Barrett’s Cove is a 2-minute drive. Learn more on the Megunticook Lake boating and fishing information page.

Reviews
Property Manager: As always, it is a pleasure to work with the OTW team. – Property: After 6 years, this property feels like home for a week. One of the best features is the big lawn that allows us to play family games.
Property Manager: As always, happy with our experience with the On the Water team. – Property: We have stayed there for 4 years. We love the flat yard and the quiet portion of the lake.
Property Manager: I found working with On the Water in Maine to be an easy and pleasant experience. The staff was professional, courteous, and thorough in corresponding with me all the way through. I appreciated this very much for a first time doing so. – Property: With 10 years between our oldest and youngest sons, we have waited a long time to embark on a family vacation, with all the college time for the three of them since our last in 2003. With them now grown, Great Pines offered the perfect location to gather our families and enjoy the time together and the beauty of Maine. This property put us in a central location of all that we wanted to do along the coast, and was quite comfortable. I had waited for this vacation for a long time, and it didn't disappoint … roomy, clean, well appointed, perfect location, and great views! Will definitely try to go back!
Property Manager: The OTWIM staff was helpful and accommodating and was a source of good advice from the early planning stages through actual occupancy. – Property: The location is wonderful. Just a few minutes from downtown Camden, it has the feeling of a more remote lake. The view, especially on a quiet morning or at sunset is spectacular. The big house is large and comfortable, and easily accommodated our large party for meals and social gatherings. The small cabin is cozy and convenient, and just the right distance from the big house to offer a quiet retreat right on the water. The water around the cabin has a speed limit of "headway speed only" so the cottages not subject to noise and disruption from water skiing and fast boat traffic. The coves near the house offer protected peaceful canoeing and kayaking as well as good fishing, but the whole expanse of the lake is easily reached for higher speed motorboat activities. The public boat launch is about five minutes away by car and a bit more than ten minutes by boat. The docks are perfect for tying up a motorboat or two. There is no sandy beach, but kayaks are easily launched and entered from some flat rocks by the small cabin.
