Property Description
DOGS PERMITTED? Sorry, dogs are not permitted at this property.
This cozy waterfront cottage for up to 4 guests practically hangs over the edge of Megunticook Lake! The dock ramp to the swim float connects right to the front porch, making it incredibly easy to get in the water. Located in the oldest developed section of the lake, near the dam, this wonderful cottage enjoys all the best Megunticook Lake has to offer.
Inside, there are two bedrooms: one with a queen bed and one with twin bunk beds (only the bottom bunks are made up and used). The modest kitchen is perfect for preparing meals, the living and dining area is a nice spot to play cards or read a book, and everyone shares a bathroom with a stall shower. There’s also a small TV with basic cable for catching up on the news or watching a movie on a rainy day.
The sandy town beach at Barrett’s Cove on Megunticook Lake is just a 2-minute drive away, and downtown Camden is only 3 miles away. Learn more about the lake on the Megunticook Lake boating and fishing information page.
BEACH CLASSIFICATION: We have categorized this property as being near a sandy beach. The shore at the cottage is rocky, but the town beach at Barrett’s Cove, just a 2-minute drive away, is sandy and great for kids.
NEED EXTRA ROOM? White Pines, on the same property, is rented separately. Book them together as Great Pines for groups of up to 12!
BOATS INCLUDED? None; however, boats can be rented through our affiliate company, Maine Watercraft Rentals, and delivered right to the property (renters must meet Maine Watercraft Rentals’ criteria). Kayak and SUP rentals are also available from Maine Sport Outfitters in Rockport and Ducktrap Kayak & SUP in Lincolnville, both of which can deliver to the property.
FISHING TRIPS: This is a great spot for fishing! Registered Maine Guide Mike Kinney can take you out on Megunticook Lake. Contact him to reserve a guided trip.

Reviews
Property Manager: From the time we booked the house, Tiffany and her team stayed in contact with us. When we arrived Tiffany was available for any questions we had. – Property: The deck was huge and the perfect place to start each day. We loved the view while we drank our coffee and planned our adventures.
Property Manager: Tiffany and her team at On the Water in Maine helped make our time on Lake Metgunticook perfect by being available throughout our week. – Property: There is no place as beautiful as Lake Metgunticook. The view from the back deck each morning was so beautiful and having the boat allowed us to explore new parts of the lake.

Property Manager: The On the Water in Maine team did a great job communicating about billing and procedures for accessing the rental property. – Property: The interior of the property was even better than the photos revealed. We were right on the lake and the setting was terrific. This is a small cottage best for either a couple or a family of three or four. You can hang out on the deck or put chairs on the float. Swimming from the float is very convenient. The kitchen was stocked much better than other properties I have rented. Plus, Camden is a very short ride away for shopping, hiking, restaurants, bay sails.
Working with the On the Water in Maine Team was very easy.
Very easy when booking the rental. Everything else was via email. The info you sent was very informative.
Property Manager: They made it easy. Property was as advertised and everything was clean and taken care of – Property: We love the lake and this tiny house was perfect for our family.
Property Manager: The people at On the Water in Maine that I dealt with through out the renting process were friendly and a pleasure to work with. I was kept informed from the min I reserved the cottage until it was time for us to get there. The instructions were clear on what we needed to do and we had no issues. – Property: This was a great place to stay, we rented two other houses, not through on the water and they were horrible. The third time was the charm and this house met all of our expectations for a cottage right on the lake which was the best feature. Being at the end of the lake in a quiet cove was just perfect.
Property Manager: The folks at On the Water were excellent and very professional. I was very satisfied with their service. – Property: The location of the cabin on the shoreline of a cove in Lake Megunticook was superb; restful, secluded, great swimming, lots of loons and bald eagles. Overall, the cabin is in good shape. The windows and slider do not work well and need replacing. The only other caveat is the mice. The Decon mouse bait stations were not very appealing. You have to make sure to keep all the counters and food preparation areas clean and all the food put away, or you will have little visitors. I would definitely rent this cabin again, my family had a great time!
Property Manager: The staff at On the Water make the rental process so easy. They really try to ensure that you have the best vacation experience possible. We couldn't be happier with the service that we've received over the years. – Property: This was our fourth stay at Little Pines cottage. The best feature about the cottage is the location. The cottage sits right on the water with spectacular view of the mountains. The lake is perfect for swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding. When not on the water, most of our time is spent on the front porch where we can enjoy the view while dining.
