This cottage is an authentic 1800's renovated cape, sitting on 40 acres at the very end of Oak Point. The Oak Point Cottage has been in the current owners' family for more than 100 years. In fact, the family's roots in Harrington date back to the late 1700's.

The cottage sits in a field of wild flowers that stretches to the bay. The property features fragrant woodlands, sprawling wildflower meadows and a pink granite shoreline. Surrounded on three sides by water, you can see spectacular sunrises over Flat Bay and sunsets over the Mill River. It has it's own mid-tide boat launch, perfect for floating small sailboats, kayaks, canoes or motor boats.

Oak Point is just 30 minutes from spectacular views and pounding surf at the Schoodic Point Section of Acadia National Park and an hours drive to Bar Harbor and the rest of Acadia National Park.

2013 Update (2.11.13) Work is in progress to complete by May of this year a partial kitchen remodel and the conversion of the former wood shed into a sun porch. The refrigerator will be moved from the dining room into the kitchen and there will be new cabinets, cupboards and counter tops in the kitchen surrounding the stove. These improvements will add a nice place to sit enjoy the scenery and to cook your meals.

No Smoking is permitted anywhere on or inside of any of our rental properties nor are those who may partake in tobacco smoking allowed to occupy any of our properties.

Occupancy may not exceed what is posted for each home. Maximum occupancy could include infants and children.

Boat Rentals and other amenities offered through On the Water in Maine Inc. are not available at all the properties we offer for rent. Boat Rentals through Maine Watercraft Rentals Inc. are offered Sunday morning to Friday after 4pm and include free delivery to the property. Check with an agent to find out what boats are available to rent at this property, or, when you process the booking here online, only the boats available for the property will be listed as available to rent.
