Located in the Crescent Beach summer neighborhood of Owls Head which is a desirable area for families to vacation, the cottage is just 3/10th of a mile - or 6 minutes walking - from sandy Crescent Beach. With a large mowed yard over a half-acre, this is a great cottage for families that want to be close to the beach, but not pay waterfront prices.
This cedar shingled house sleeps 6 in three bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths. The front of the cottage has a wraparound covered porch. The kitchen is fully equipped for those that like to cook. All bedrooms have room-darkening shades.
BEACH CLASSIFICATION: We have categorized this property as having or being near a sandy beach. More specifically for this property - it is a short 5 minute walk to publicly accessible Crescent Beach. Two other great area beaches are nearby. The closest is Crockett`s Beach, but also Birch Point Beach State Park is within a 5 minute drive of the property. There is not an actual usable sandy beach at this property, but the nearby beaches are great for kids and that is why we have classified it as being on or in this case - "near" sandy beaches.
NEED EXTRA ROOM? Our newest property can be a great "addition" to this rental. Just a short distance away, this guest suite can accommodate another couple (2 guests), while remaining close to the rest of the group. Click HERE to visit the Owls Head Guest Suite property page.

Yes, your agency was wonderful to work with: available and organized. Pretty much every detail is covered. Fortunately we did not need any "help" along the way.
We are returning guests and find the cottage welcoming and in a desirable location. Camden, Rockport, Rockland, and Port Clyde are all wonderful destinations close by. The open floor plan is perfect and the deck with many chairs is perfect for both morning sun and for later in the day. A real treat to eat breakfast on a sunny morning on the porch. Kitchen is a dream and the dining room comfortable for 6 people!

Always prompt, courteous and just the right amount of communication/reminders.
This is our second time staying at Rosehill and it's as good as we remembered. Our favorite feature is the large wrap-around deck. Nothing like relaxing on the deck, looking at the beautiful wild flowers and enjoying a cold beverage.

Not a hitch...Sara at On the Water in Maine was wonderful! All calls were returned promptly and we were dealt with in a very professional way throughout.
Lovely spot...the beach was a huge plus. Since we were at a family reunion we didn't spend a ton of time there, but the time there was great. All the amenities were nice, and it had a family feel.

The kitchen at Rosehill is the best equipped of any cottage we have stayed in. We did a lot of cooking, and there were plenty of decent pans, pots, knives, cutting boards, and dishware.
The porch at Rosehill is lovely with good comfy chairs.

Thankfully, we did not have any problems but I spoke with OTW contacts a few times and I feel that they were prepared for anything that would be needed.
Our stay at Rosehill cottage was everything that we had hoped for. The cottage was a perfect place for my brother and I/kids to stay while visiting our family in the mid-coast region. In addition to the great location, the cottage was very clean and tastefully decorated with thoughtful touches. The owners have done a fantastic job updating the place with modern conveniences, yet retaining the charm and character of a classic "Maine" beach cottage that I recall from growing up on the Maine coast. As an interior design professional...and a Maine native... I'm very particular.... and Rosehill cottage was perfect!

I appreciate the thoroughness of the rental information from the rental agreement to the "Things to do" listing at the cottage. The Guest Book had more than enough information to answer any questions that we had during our stay and it was comforting to know that these answers were at our fingertips, when needed.
Rosehill Cottage is fabulous!! It was clean when we arrived and I could move right in! This is first time I have ever rented and been able to do so! The kitchen has everything you would need with all the "comforts of home". The beds were comfortable for a couple of people who usually don't sleep the first night anywhere! The decor was soothing and hours on the porch with the gentle breeze will be missed. We appreciate the care that went into preparing the home for our visit. We appreciate you opening your home to us. The thought and care that you put into furnishing every room did not go unnoticed. We have never had such a comfortable and enjoyable stay! Thank you for your hospitality.
