A comfortable cottage nicely furnished- The Gulls Cottage was selected for purchase by owner's looking for a cottage that defined their idea of a perfect Maine vacation destination. They selected a kayaker's dream location - a place where one can explore protected coastal hideaways among lobsterman and other recreational boaters. Coincidentally, they chose a place close to the highest ranked (by TripAdvisor) attraction in Maine as of the Autumn of 2013. The Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens are located just over a mile away. Rental of this property includes 2 adult tickets to the gardens.
Entering the cottage you are greeting by comfortable furnishings, original artwork, a well-equipped kitchen, and comfortable sleeping quarters. The front of the cottage faces the water with an open living room, kitchen, and dining area in the same space. The rear of the cottage contains the three bedrooms and full bathroom.
Walk out on to the pier and dock in front of the cottage to launch kayaks (not included) or just enjoy sitting with a book or glass of wine.

On the Water in Maine was great to work with. Our dog doesn't fit perfectly into the dog policy, but I was able to speak with someone and they were very accommodating given he is 10 years old and just sleeps all day (I'm not even sure he noticed we were on vacation). Directions for renting, payment, getting to and from the property, check in/out were all very well communicated and easy. Thank you!
The Gulls was perfect for our stay. The cottage was charming and well-equipped. The location was great. It was very easy to get to and from town if we wanted, and secluded and private for when we just wanted to relax and enjoy the view. You can see the water from almost every window in the house, and the deck and dock were lovely. The two sets of sliding doors in the living room made an easy transition from the deck to inside, and allowed for protection from the mosquitoes after the sun went down. It was great to be able to bring the dog and not have to worry about road noise or having neighbors too close by.

We loved everything about the Gulls. It's on a beautiful spot on the water,. Peaceful and full of life. It is also just a short drive to eatting and shopping . The house had all the provisions you need already there.

This agency was terrific with regard to communication prior to as well as during our stay. I would definitely seek other rentals from this agency in the future.
We absolutely loved everything about this property. The house was situated in a quiet location on the back bay with gorgeous views of herons and Osprey diving for food. And the Boothbay area in itself was beautiful with many preserves and an amazing Botanical Gardens. A couple of highlights of our trip was taking a boat ride from the Botanical Gardens into the bay on a guided tour with boat captain Shawn and visiting the Alpaca Farm in South Port. In general this area was so friendly to travelers....thank you for the wonderful vacation experience!

On the Water in Maine did a great job keeping us well informed. Particularly liked the email that suggested favorite things to do and places to go. Or what to do on rainy day.
The Gulls is really a home with enough personality and decorations that it is homey without being fussy or things getting in the way. love the landscaping, natural as well as sweet garden areas. Layout is perfect with living area and porch giving perfect views. Love that front is all glass doors for view. Love that it gets the sunsets and not the morning sun. Porch was perfect even on hot humid days. And most times there is a nice breeze coming up the river. Location to town and other areas was perfect. Couldn't see one neighbor other than the ones across the river which is still far away. Wonderful, private, well-amenitied, little home. would be tight for 6 people but perfect for 3 or 4.

I did not use On the Water in Maine when I rented this property last year because it was with another company then - but I am impressed with your website and information. This is the most perfect spot you'll find in Maine. Water & scenic views from everywhere; quiet spot but near town, pretty/cozy house & porch; could sit on dock & never want to go anywhere else.
