Holiday Beach House sits just a few hundred feet away from a private beach, pond, and quiet dead end road. This timeless Maine cottage is the perfect home base for beach days, exploring, and enjoying the outdoors. The deck sits off the kitchen for easy outdoor meals, and the beachfront picnic table is perfect for quick lunches among days of swimming, kayaking, and skipping rocks. The property has lots of land for yard games, and a man made pond just behind the home that is fun to explore. This dead end road is also great for biking, running, or walking a dog.
The house sleeps 6 total, with two upstairs bedrooms and a bunk sleeping area in the lower, walkout basement entertainment center. The open concept kitchen, dining, and living area promotes family time and relaxation. The kids will have lots of space to play indoors on the rare raining day. This location is all about the beach! Set up some beach chairs in the morning and spend the day lounging, watching the schooners and lobster boats travel up and down Penobscot Bay.
Head north and enjoy the happening town life that the adjoining towns of Rockland, Rockport and Camden have to offer or head south and experience "the way life used to be" in Owls Head, Thomaston, Spruce Head, and Tenants Harbor. Close by attractions include Owls Head Light State Park or the Owls Head Transportation Museum. With downtown Rockland a short ride away, you can enjoy the Farnsworth Museum, wonderful art galleries, interesting shopping and art museums, plentiful restaurants, golf courses, as well as the museum at the end of the Breakwater inside the Rockland Light, which is still in operation.
BEACH CLASSIFICATION: We have categorized this property as having or being near a sandy beach. More specifically for this property - the house itself is on Holiday Beach, which has large rounded rocks. It is about a mile to Crescent Beach. Two other great area beaches are nearby. The closest is Crockett's Beach, but also Birch Point Beach State Park is within a 5 minute drive of the property. There is not an actual usable sandy beach at this property - it is rocky, but the nearby beaches are great for kids and that is why we have classified it as being on or in this case - "near" sandy beaches.

BOATS INCLUDED? None, however SUP & Kayak Rentals are available in Port Clyde at Port Clyde Kayaks 20 minutes south, or from Maine Sport, 20 minutes north in Rockport. Both deliver to the property. Sometimes, if the order is big, Ducktrap Kayaks will deliver as well to this property.
LINENS & TOWELS: The rental of this property includes all bed linens and towels. Beds will be made up upon arrival and there will be one bath towel and wash cloth per listed occupancy, two hand towels per bathroom, one bath mat per full bathroom, and two kitchen towels in the kitchen. Additional bath towels can be rented.

We always enjoy our time at Holiday Beach Houseit's like a second home to us. The view from the living/dining/kitchen area is spectacular and immediately lowers our blood pressure. The kitchen is also a joy to cook in and is very well stocked.

We have rented through OTWIM for several years now. From browsing properties to booking, the website is easy to navigate and accurate. Personnel have been helpful and friendly. Always a good experience. The only suggestion for me would be with a 2 week stay, it would be nice to have an extra supply of paper products and maybe clean towels and sheets for the second week since they would be provided for new guests..

We had a wonderful 2 week stay. The first week our daughter and 2 teenage grandsons stayed with us. The lower level bunk bed room with the big screen TV was perfect for the boys. The second week was just my husband and me and the house was perfect for that too. Not too big but plenty of room. The proximity to the beach was my favorite feature.

The team at On the Water in Maine is professional, responsive, thoughtful and thorough. Could not ask for better property managers - everything was wonderful and minor issues were handled promptly. With an unexpected 2 day heatwave, the team even offered window AC units and box fans, which we declined. They were not needed with the natural AC from the ocean breeze.

The living space invites relaxation in every room. Favorite is watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee on the stone beach...or maybe listening to frogs and watching the fireflies in the back yard? A glass of wine or beer at the secret private beachside picnic table? Or maybe reading in the living room while watching the biggest flatscreen ever (the wall of windows looking out onto Monore and Sheep island - schooners, fishing boats parade by)? Or maybe watching the meadow change over from lupine and roses, to lillies... It was ALL good. There were literally days where we planned to go someplace but decided it could not get any better than Holiday Beach House, so we stayed home.

Always been great --- We have rented with On the Water now for three or four years, and the experience has always been great. We have no interest in renting with anyone else.
Holiday Beach House: The kitchen (one of us is a professional food writer, and we have so many friends who live in midcoast that we're always having people over for dinner while we stay) and the light. Oh my gosh: THE LIGHT. And the view. And the house itself is so incredibly lovely and comfortable and clean.
