Panoramic water views looking to the inner harbor and out to sea can be enjoyed from this peaceful five-bedroom, two and half bath village property. Watch the sun set on the front porch within close sight of islands and fisherman unloading their catch. Play on the large mowed yard between the house and the water. Swim or boat from the private deep water dock, perfect for any of the rental boats offered through On the Water in Maine.
One of the greatest expenses of the management of this home is the landscaping costs - and it shows. The gardens and lawns of this home are spectacular.
Port Clyde House, built in 1852, is full of New England charm. Freshly restored and decorated, the interior is abundant with soothing artwork and natural light allowing visitors to enjoy the outdoors even from the inside. Comfortable bedding and modern appliances combined with the quaint features of a historic residence make Port Clyde House the perfect summer retreat.
For history buffs, Port Clyde House is located on the former Port Clyde Sardine Packing Company property. The sardine packing factory burned in the early 1970`s leaving what is now the large private pier as well as open spaces with prime waterfront positioning on the harbor.

OTWIM has been great to work with, very efficient and responsive. This is the second time I have rented through them and would not hesitate to use them again in future.
The location and the grounds of this property were amazing. I could not believe the harbor views and watching all the boat traffic was entertaining. We also had some amazing close up Eagle sightings. The house while very old has a lot of charm and character and was very comfortable. Kitchen was fantastic, modern and up to date.

Everything worked incredibly well -- no hassles, no hiccups.
We love the Port Clyde House! We just spent our third summer on the property and plan on returning next year.

On the Water in Maine staff were very helpful and considerate. Prior to renting this house, I called them several times with questions. I was always treated with respect and had my questions answered promptly. They assisted me with some adjustments that needed to be made for our family and were very kind about it.
I would recommend them to anyone and already have.
I spent a wonderful week with my family, 3 generations at this property. We all had a wonderful time, the porch and the views had to be the best part of the house. It was very relaxing, the landscaping was beautifully done, the house itself was excellent. There was plenty of room for everyone, you could go off on your own if you wanted to, or have everyone together in the kitchen. Speaking of the kitchen, I wanted to take it home with me. It was a pleasure to work in, very nice range, well appointed, and lots of room. The first floor master suite was very nice and worked well for my husband and I.
I highly recommend visiting the businesses in Port Clyde and taking the ferry out to Monhegan Island.

The staff of On the Water in Maine were very accommodating and quick to respond to questions. I needed to have an adjustment made for a family member's disability, and the staff were very kind, and obtained a piece of equipment to make the stay easier. This took the worry out of the equation for us.
We really enjoyed sitting on the porch, the view of the harbor was excellent, watching the boats and ferries come and go, and the bonus of having a bald eagle visit the property several times, was awesome! I'd say we spent most of our time on the porch.
We had our whole family here, 3 generations, and it worked well for everyone. The grounds are just beautiful and with a large lawn to play wiffle ball and football. The sunsets were stunning.
The kitchen was so easy to work in, and well appointed, plenty of room for everyone to work.
I recommend The Dip Net in town for a casual and delicious meal, the ice cream shop was delish, coffee at The Ink Squid was great, and then you can't beat the breakfast sandwich at the General Store. The kids rented kayaks from the shop in town and had a great experience.
Thank you for some great memories, I plan on coming back!

Smooth working experience. Enjoyed all the details provided before and during our stay. No surprises and we like that.
The location was perfect. Our favorite feature of the house is the porch, and we enjoyed taking in the view of the harbor every day. We also loved being able to walk to the General Store, The Dip Net, for lobsters or to take the Laura B to Monhegan. This is concerning the TV......while we understand the owners probably aren't big TV watchers, it sure was uncomfortable to sit on hard dining room chairs to watch it. I would imagine most guests would prefer the TV be in the front room where there are overstuffed chairs. I preferred to watch the harbor view, but my husband preferred TV.....even on hard chairs!!!!

The setting of this property is lovely. Watching the harbor activity is endlessly interesting and provides a great visual field. We loved the lawn and dock. The outside porch eating area is terrific.
