Designed by noted New York architect Toshiko Mori, this elegant, modernist waterfront home features signature floor to ceiling glass walls along the entire length of the waterside of the home. These 12 and 14 foot windows overlook an inviting, expansive oceanside deck with outdoor dining table and capture unmatched ocean and island views — with absolutely stunning sunsets.

Planned for ease of living, the three bedroom, one-level, 1600 square foot space is divided between a large, open living-dining-kitchen area and private bed/bathrooms. The master is en-suite. Relax and enjoy reading by the gas-fired wood stove in the main living area at night, cooking in the fully-appointed kitchen outfitted with high-end appliances, or lolling in bed. The southwest views over the protected ocean inlet welcome the sun’s natural illumination and warmth throughout the day.

Located on Muscungus Bay, at the mouth of the Meduncook River, this is a beautiful, tranquil vacation or honeymoon retreat. Situated at the end of a private dead-end road in an exclusive neighborhood, the house affords perfect solitude surrounded by more than 30 acres of conserved woods and meadow. Stroll the lawn, specimen gardens, and wooded paths of this private 3.3-acre waterfront property with 200 feet of shorefront. The sturdy dock, steps from the house, can be your venue for swimming, fishing, boating, or more sunset views. The shorefront is great for kayaking, too.

This contemporary home is a perfect place to get away from it all and take in the spectacular views of yachts, lobster boats, and lots of wildlife while still being a short drive to the great restaurants, art galleries, and shopping of Rockland and Camden.

A rating
location, location, location and the beautiful design of the home. It would be nice if the owners added a ladder to the dock for easier access to/from. One of the best properties I have ever stayed at (second year in a row).

On the Water in Maine is so easy to work with from start to finish. Because we were return guests, we were even able to check in a little more quickly...a nice surprise!
This was our second stay at "Glass House" and just as the first stay, it did not disappoint. Our weather was not as beautiful as year one, but the house was perfect. The views, from every room, simply beautiful! The grounds incredible and the architecture fantastic!

ON the Water in Maine was easy to work with and there were no complaints, at all. Communication was clear and we walked in and walked out of the house with no issues what-so-ever. The agency was great.
We had an amazing 2 week stay at the Glass House in Cushing, ME. The entire side of the house that faces the ocean is glass. Incredible views and watching the lobster boats check their traps we great. It is secluded but that is a good thing. We had no problem finding stores, restaurants, and anything else you might need. The grocery store was a little drive but all well worth the drive to get to stay in an amazing place. We will visit again.

The house we stayed in looked out on the cove. We viewed spectacular sunsets through floor to ceiling windows. The house had a calming affect.

Working with On the Water in Maine was very easy. We really liked that, because we were first time renters, they called us and made certain the house we requested was the right was! The process, when we would be charged, when we would receive directions to the house, etc, was fully explained up front and happened exactly as stated. Directions to the house were detailed and accurate. We were glad they pointed out where the nearest grocery store was so we could stop on our way in and be all set before we even checked in!
Glass House was absolutely perfect for our week's stay in Maine. When I returned to work, I was asked what the best part of our trip was. Without hesitation I replied "the house!". The location is about halfway between Kennebunkport and Acadia, which made if great for exploring the many small coastal towns as well as hiking in the national park. We took the advice to buy groceries on our way in and that worked out great as it is a bit of a drive to the nearest store. The house was very clean upon arrival and has plenty of amenities - kitchen utensils, dishes, bath towels, blankets, games, etc. We wanted for nothing during our stay. We found the beds very comfortable, and the ability to do laundry during our visit a nice plus. My husband is an architect and appreciated the design details of the house. The windows, designed to capture the ocean breeze while cross ventilating, provided the perfect climate while spending time inside the house. The view is, in a word, spectacular! The two chairs perched under the trees were the ideal spot for experiencing each, unbelievably gorgeous, sunset. Not only is the view incredible from the waters edge - there are water views from almost every room in the house (one bedroom and one bath are the only ones without the water view). We hope to return to Glass House for another memory-filled week!

Love the way the history of the house was shared with me. You were honest and did inform me that this was a "destination" house.
Gorgeous view of the bay from every point in the house. Landscaping is immaculate and so relaxing. Love the modern style of the home from the hard wood floors to the high ceilings , clutter free space and high end appliances. Love the art work in the house. Loved the property and house but the location from Booth bay, Portland, Camden and Bar Harbor- so far away. Even though these cities were less than 60 miles from the house, the drive to them took 90-120 minutes due to the hilliness of Maine. Even Rockland was 30-45 minute drive even though it was only 15 miles.
