Our leading rental home, the one everyone wants to stay at, Maitri House (pronounced “MY tree”, a Sanskrit word meaning “unconditional friendliness”) is one of only a few elite lakefront homes available for rental on desirable Megunticook Lake. It features tasteful, comfortable furniture, complete gourmet kitchen, gas fireplace, double-width dock, large deck and screened porch with ping pong table and other games. Maitri House sits right on the southern end of Lake Megunticook, 3 miles from beautiful Camden village and the ocean. The Camden Hills State Park with many hiking trails is also nearby.
Privacy is a key feature of this home with limited exposure to the few surrounding neighbors. Located on a quarter mile long private road, traffic is not a problem either.
Outside is a sprawling deck, a fire pit, stairs leading to the large double dock, and great access to Megunticook Lake. This house is located in a private cove, so boats are not speeding by, and loons, herons, and other wildlife come to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Swimming and fishing are great off the over-sized dock and the screened porch is a perfect retreat in the evening.

BOATS INCLUDED? For $100/week, we offer a canoe to rent at the property (select at. booking to add it to your reservation). In addition, our affiliate company Maine Watercraft Rentals Inc. will rent and deliver/pick-up one of the following boats at the property 18' foot 2019 Bayliner Ski Boat or 2020 Tracker Fishing/Ski Boat - both with 115hp motors. Click HERE to view pricing and to reserve a boat through us. Rental of the boat includes water skis, a tube, kneeboard, and wakeboard. You must meet Maine Watercraft Rentals criteria for renting boats.
If you are looking to rent kayaks, or SUPs Maine Sport or Ducktrap Kayaks offer those and can deliver them to the Property.
LINENS & TOWELS: The rental of this property includes all bed linens and towels. Beds will be made up prior to you arrival and there will be one bath towel and washcloth per listed occupancy, two hand towels and one bathmat per bathroom and two kitchen towels for the kitchen. Additional bath towels can be rented.
SECURITY DEPOSIT: Yes, a $500 Refundable Security Deposit may be required for Guests that don't have a previous/proven relationship with our company. The security deposit is due 90 Days prior to arrival and refunded within 30 days of departure.

We came to this beautiful place, two exhausted surgeons, two sweet teenage boys and found rest, tranquility, relaxation. A place where we could reconnect as a family and spend a precious week of time away from the things that distract us from simply being together. We read, we slept, we ate and we played together. We had problems with the rental boat. The team knocked itself out to get the issues resolved. Typical. We have Without exception found everyone working as hard as possible to make our stay outstanding. You cant do much about Camden traffic, but you did give us great direction to avoid it. Outstanding. Everything possible was done to make our stay perfect.

The house was well equipped, clean and had lots of room. The view was stunning, Camden very close, and the area as good as it gets. We were so happy, the TV never got used. Who needs that when the colors all around are constantly changing?

We enjoyed the extra large dock with room for all to sit and easily get in and out of our various watercraft. We liked and used the grill, the fire pit and the upper deck. The sound system was enjoyed all week.
We wished the picnic table had some shade and that the indoor table would seat all 10 of us (OTW responded 10/1/2018: there is a leaf in the front closet for additional people to accommodate up to 10 people at the inside dining table). Another armchair on the screened porch would have been nice.

Our family of 10 thoroughly enjoyed the week here! The house worked well for us - but we lived on the dock, boat, canoe, kayaks and paddle boards. Caught a few fish, skied and tubed, and loved our together time! Also had a great fire in the outdoor pit and watched falling stars on the dock! We loved the open structure of the house and the view of the lake from inside the porch.

The last seven days have been bliss! Eight of us between the ages of 6 and 68 years old created lifetime memories in this beautiful home and town! Our favorites: spending so much time on the lake - we loved the boat, jumping off rocks, canoeing and fishing! - the largest fish was caught off the dock around 7:30pm - 5 lb. large mouth bass!; Maine Sports -ask for Seth, he can help with any outdoor needs; Get coconut toasted ice cream in town; hiking and hiking and hiking - our favorite was Mt. Battie and the Oceanview Trail which was 40 minutes up and 40 minutes down; Sail on The Schooner Olad - perfect for all ages plus BYOB; Beth Farmers Market in Warren for blueberry pie and produce - call ahead and reserve your pie, yum!; Long Grain Restaurant = yum x 10 - order take out if you cant get in. Enjoy!
