Located on Montsweag Bay, where the changing tides are always fun to watch, this is a great property for the vacationing family. The newly installed dock affords the opportunity to kayak from the property, or head to nearby Freeport or Boothbay Harbor to shop - everyone will find something to do at Rushing Tides Cottage.
This beautiful home is a most fitting example of a true `Coastal Living` magazine style home, the type of property each of us dream of vacationing in. Privately situated on 2 acres, with 175 feet of westerly-facing waterfront on the Sheepscot River, you can enjoy stunning sunsets each night of the week, or northerly views to the historic town of Wiscasset.
BOATS INCLUDED? None, however, the Wiscasset Trading Post offers kayak rentals in the area and does deliver to the property if you are adventurous. River currents from the tide can be strong in front of the property - so only skilled kayakers should operate from the dock.

On the Water was very helpful during our vacation rental. We specifically dealt with Kelsey. We very much wanted to rent Rushing Tides during a specific week that wasn't completely available due to the Labor Day holiday and the owners wanting to enjoy their property. With some phone calls and the owners agreeing, Kelsey made it happen. Emails kept us informed throughout the process. Check in and check out was easy and it was nice to have the "Information Book" handy at the house for any questions we had. We would happily rent though On the Water again!
We enjoyed our stay at Rushing Tides from the moment we entered the property. It felt like home and was absolutely beautiful. We loved that it sets on a semi-private, spacious lot with a fun view of the North End Lobster Co-Op lobster men hauling in their traps each day. We watched them every morning from either the comfortable deck or better yet, from the dock. Another perk - the Co-Op is a short walk down the road where we purchased our dinner often. The kitchen at Rushing Tides was well stocked with all the gadgets needed to make wonderful meals while making great memories. We enjoyed both the fire pit outside and the beautiful fire place inside after our dinners. At night, the bedrooms were perfect with comfortable beds and so nice to each have a private bathroom.
The location of Rushing Tides is super. Minutes from Wiscasset, where we frequented Red's Eats (A MUST go to place) and ordered out lobster pizza from Sarah's Cafe. A half hour from Boothbay Harbor and Freeport, both fun places to go.
Rushing Tides is a perfect place to get away and relax in Maine! We hope to go back someday!

Enjoyed the house and the property very much. Loved that each bedroom had its own bathroom. Enjoyed the views from the property, the firepit, walking on the new dock. Furniture was comfortable, kitchen pretty well stocked. Good location for visiting Damariscotta, Boothbay and Pemaquid.

I had booked another vacation home online through another vacation rental agency. Even though their calendar showed that home was available, and my credit card was charged, it popped up days later that it was unavailable. I had planned a whole 3 week vacation around that home rental and was in a panic trying to find something else for that week time slot. I had heard of On the Water in Maine Vacation Rentals - so thought I would look at their site. Found Rushing Tides and another property available through OTW, so I called the office on a day that no one was in to make a reservation. I had sent an e-mail explaining my situation and left a message on the reservation line in a panic. I tried another extension at the office and Nikki the Office Manager answered! She had already received my frantic message and e-mail and was so wonderful to help me out! Since I travel, I needed to do all of the paperwork electronically which she said was no problem. Within the hour I had the contract signed, payment made and my vacation was saved thanks to Nikki! Happy 50th birthday to me!
The house was wonderful! It is very similar to a floor plan that I have drawn up for my own Maine dream home. The house was new, clean, and had everything that we needed and things that we didn't even know that we wanted until we found them. The location was wonderful! I have looked for property to purchase on Westport Island several years ago because I like the area. There is nothing that I didn't like and everything that I loved about the property! The location, the house, the amenities, cleanliness, supplies, etc.

Effortless. Informative emails, clear instructions. Info book at the house answered all house questions and even how to cook lobsters!
Favorite features: fully equipped kitchen, comfortable furniture inside and out, beautiful decor. Loved that each bedroom had it's own bathroom. The house was very clean when we arrived and the cleaning crew left fresh cut flowers from the grounds on the windowsill, very nice touch.

Very great to work with and was very helpful.
The house was amazing. You can't beat the view. It was our first trip to Maine and we loved it. The house was perfect and we enjoyed the large back yard. We really made a lot of great memories during the vacation and enjoyed the quality family time!

The rental process was clear and easy, and the staff were efficient and helpful. We appreciated being informed that an early check-in was possible.
This was a lovely house: incredibly clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated. The kitchen was well equipped, and the furniture was very comfortable. We enjoyed the beautiful view of the water and the privacy and quiet of the setting.
The only thing that would make it better for us would be if there were a king-sized bed. Still, even without this, we would happily return.

since we've rented with onthewater several times, the process was hassle free, drama free and stress free (perhaps you should consult the Hilton chain because they are not there yet.) we anticipated a great, relaxing vacation and it lived up to our expectations.
wonderful property. best part is back deck and very comfortable living room. Probably the best room we've encountered in our stays with onthewater. Very well designed house.

Justin was great and very helpful. I felt comfortable calling with any questions or concerns.
We had a fabulous time; the house was open and airy, just the right size for 2 couples. The view was beautiful....spent alot of time on the deck and down at the firepit at night. The beds were the most comfortable ones we've ever slept in at a rental property!

Staff at On the Water in Maine, Inc were both professional and courteous.
Short of not being able to gain water access from the shore, our overall experience was great none the less. (This inaccessibility due to the lack of a dock and very muddy shoreline.) However, the interior of this home made up for this. The open floor plan, bath on suite to each bedroom, and floor to ceiling windows on the west side of living area made for a pleasant stay. Oh, and did I mention access to the deck from the Master Bedroom. The water views of Sheepscot River whether at sunrise or sunset, be it inside or on the deck were picture perfect. The grounds were impeccably kept. Though a bit steep from the deck area, there was ample flat surface area perfect for bocce. The fire pit and hammock completed the relaxed vacation experience. Can't say enough positives about the interior. The whitewashed tongue and grooved pine walls brighten those few overcast days we encountered.

On the Water has always been highly responsive and proactive. It's the best rental company I've worked with in my 15+ years of renting vacation properties.
this was our 4th year in Rushing Tides--we really like the open floor plan and high ceilings--it's the perfect house for a family vacation!

Excellent group of people who really care about their customers and the properties.
Great house, wonderful neighborhood. Avoiding the Wiscasset traffic is always nice getting to and from ones rental.
Kayaking is possible from the house, but only around high tides due to the mud. It is also quite safe if you stay upriver, that is heading towards wiscasset. Lots to see and explore. It really is only missing a dock.

Emily was the only one we had contact with at On the Water in Maine and she was Excellent!! She could not have been more friendly or more helpful.
Thank you so much for the use of your beautiful home. It was immaculate, beautifully decorated and had everything we could possibly needs. We spent a wonderful week with our son Danny our daughter-in-law Raleigh and her parents Diane and Dana Onks. Rushing Tides is BEAUTIFUL, CLEAN & SPOTLESS! We especially loved that each bedroom have their own private bathroom. The open concept in the living area with magnificent windows even over the kitchen sink were perfect. The fabulous kitchen had everything we could possibly want. The beautiful fireplace was great for taking the chill off a couple evenings and there wasn't a hint of smoke. We ate lobster every day from the North End co-op. We made lobster eggs benedict, lobster scrambled eggs, lobster nachos,(during the New England/Buffalo Bill's game) and steamed lobster with deliciouse corn on the cob and potatoes from Shaws were excellent!!! Of course we had to visit Red's Eats and Sprague's for lobster rolls, fried clams and fish & chips. The location is perfect. Boothbay Harbour and Freeport were fun and the shopping was good too. We made s'mores around the fire pit. Wonderful memories were made and we look forward to returning to beautiful Maine. Emily at On the Water in Maine was very sweet and helpful through the whole rental experience. Thank You for everything. Sandy & Dan Cook

Emily was extremely helpful and proactive. We didn't encounter any problems with the property or the rental process but I'm sure your team would handle any concerns promptly and professionally. We like the centralized location which puts us within a reasonable drive of our favorite beaches and hiking in Midcoast Maine. The house is a comfortable, quiet, and relaxing place that truly makes us feel we've 'gotten away'!
This was our 3rd year staying in Rushing Tides. It is very comfortable and we love relaxing here in addition to its location right in the middle of the Midcoast. The addition of air conditioners this summer was greatly appreciated on the very hot days.
