When you stay at Harbor Watch Cottage - you will be in the heart of the town, close to the action where you will hear the lobster boats leaving to start their day, the gulls calling at dawn, and all of the life support systems of this famous fishing village throughout the day. This location is perfect for someone who wants to be a part of a working fishing village, to be able to walk to the general store, the fishing docks and the ice cream store. It is not for the faint of heart who want a calm, quiet and serene location. Although the cottage has limited water views from the second story, it is just a few steps away from the main docks. Small children may not be a good idea as the cottage is quite close to the edge of the road.
A signature of this classic cottage with comfortable furnishings is the covered porch. Walk to the private (shared) pier and dock 200 feet away or the Port Clyde General Store, only 300 feet away. Play on the small mowed yard between the house and the road. Kayak from the private deep water dock, perfect for any of the rental boats offered through Port Clyde Kayaks.

I found instructions clear and through, although nothing was said about the sulfur smell in the town water when it is heated until we got there. It would not make a difference to us but it may to some people.
We throughly enjoyed our stay and the cottage. It was close to the water and convenient to general store, coffee shop, gift store and pier.

Communication through email was very good and helpful. When I had questions, I emailed and got a response within hours.
Was very convenient to Port Clyde docks and general store. The store had almost anything you could need. The house was charming, especially the front porch. The cable tv and WiFi were great. The weather was little on the hot and humid side while we were there so was a bit uncomfortable.

The ease of communicating with everyone at On the Water made our vacation better. We knew we would be taken care of immediately had there been problems. The rental system there is better than other organizations I've worked with in other states. Thanks, Justin, for the phone calls and Meg for the emails.
This cottage is in a wonderful, central setting at the tip of Port Clyde. We ate at the General Store every day, got coffee at Squid Ink next to it, and had a choice whether to watch boats from the public dock there or at the co-op dock (part of the rental) at the other side of the house. The sunsets at the co-op dock were fabulous! Several locals had been inside our cottage in earlier years and said it's got a reputation for its charm and dcor. I'm glad the owner trusts renters with the great antiques inside. Plenty of cooking tools and dishes to work with, and the lobster pot worked great.

On the Water in Maine was helpful and responsive when an issue came up with an appliance at our rental.
We loved the house and look forward to booking the house again. It is in a great location; right on the harbour with some water views. The porch is huge; we enjoyed sitting out and enjoyed many meals there. Very central location in Port Clyde, which we found charming.

No problems -- great communicators.
Great cottage! The kitchen is well stocked with ordinary essentials -- salt, pepper, sugar, seasonings, coffee, etc. -- and completely stocked with pots, pans, silverware, knives, plates, and glasses, even martini glasses. The location and layout is perfect fot two couples or a large family. Location is perfect with access to private western facing dock and 300 feet to the General Store, Dip Net restaurant, and the " Barn" -- don't miss it.
