Great Pines is one of the largest rental properties on Megunticook Lake and is located in the oldest developed section of the lake near the dam. This property meets every description of a traditional Maine lakeside vacation retreat. Completely re-energized with new carpet and bathrooms in 2009 the property received even more improvements in 2010. Those improvements included new pine floors, new doors and windows, new living room flat screen TV, a new master bedroom queen mattress and twin mattress's in the lower level big bedroom as well as some new living room furnishings including a couch, lamps, etc.

LINENS & TOWELS: The rental of this property includes all bed linens and towels. Beds will be made up upon arrival and there will be one bath towel and wash cloth per listed occupancy, two hand towels per bathroom, one bath mat per full bathroom, and two kitchen towels in the kitchen. Additional bath towels can be rented.
SECURITY DEPOSIT: Yes, a $500 Refundable Security Deposit is required by the owner. The security deposit is due 90 Days prior to arrival and refunded within 30 days of departure.
OFF-SEASON PRICING: In order to make some of our larger or "Elite" properties more attractive to smaller groups in the Off-Season, we have created a Custom Pricing Option. Pricing for rentals that occur in the advertised Off Seasons for this property are based on 8 people. Additional people, up to the maximum allowed for the property, will be charged an additional $175 per person - per week if a rental occurs in these time-periods. Guest must select this option during the reservation process.

With 10 years between our oldest and youngest sons, we have waited a long time to embark on a family vacation, with all the college time for the three of them since our last in 2003. With them now grown, Great Pines offered the perfect location to gather our families and enjoy the time together and the beauty of Maine. This property put us in a central location of all that we wanted to do along the coast, and was quite comfortable. I had waited for this vacation for a long time, and it didn't disappoint ... roomy, clean, well appointed, perfect location, and great views! Will definitely try to go back!

Property
The location is wonderful. Just a few minutes from downtown Camden, it has the feeling of a more remote lake. The view, especially on a quiet morning or at sunset is spectacular. The big house is large and comfortable, and easily accommodated our large party for meals and social gatherings. The small cabin is cozy and convenient, and just the right distance from the big house to offer a quiet retreat right on the water. The water around the cabin has a speed limit of "headway speed only" so the cottages not subject to noise and disruption from water skiing and fast boat traffic. The coves near the house offer protected peaceful canoeing and kayaking as well as good fishing, but the whole expanse of the lake is easily reached for higher speed motorboat activities. The public boat launch is about five minutes away by car and a bit more than ten minutes by boat. The docks are perfect for tying up a motorboat or two. There is no sandy beach, but kayaks are easily launched and entered from some flat rocks by the small cabin.
