Built in 2013, this beautiful waterfront home has become one of our more popular rentals - and certainly gets some of the best reviews! (Be sure to read them below). It features 200 feet of pebbly waterfront shore on a large sandy cove. Past guests have loved spending the day at the beach in front of the home. It is accessible by a private stairwell just off the wonderfully landscaped large backyard. The beach from the front of the property extends to and around Stover's Point beach, which is ideal for long walks. Kayaks, canoes can be launched from the property at high tide and the cove is well protected.
From the expansive private deck or screened porch enjoy the incredible views of birds, an occasional seal, and other forms of coastal wildlife. The ocean seems to almost lap up against the property. Sailboats and lobster boats often go by - there is always something moving within sight of the property on the water. On Saturdays in August watch for the sailboat races in the harbor. Take a 5-minute drive down to the end of the peninsula to Estes Lobster for a fresh lobster roll or enjoy Maine-caught oysters at The Dolphin Restaurant with amazing panoramic views of the ocean. The Ship To Shore Store just minutes away has all your grocery needs as well as fresh lobster, delicious pizza for take-out, and a basic alcohol selection.
This gorgeous cottage faces Harpswell Sound with spectacular sunrises and offers a nice view of the Cribstone Bridge located between Orr’s & Bailey’s Islands. Celebrate the 4th of July from the perfect location where you can view the fireworks across the harbor from the deck! The large yards in the front and back are well-groomed and conducive to family games. The entire yard facing the ocean is fenced in to keep little ones in your party close by. Join the town of Harpswell and Brunswick for their Annual 4th of July Parade, live music performances, and delicious food!
Beachcomber is only minutes to downtown Brunswick which boasts many eclectic and gourmet restaurants for dining as well as numerous shops, cafes, and bookstores. The Maine State Theater has live performances of all the beloved musical classics as well as orchestral performances. The Brunswick Farmers Market is every Tuesday & Friday from May through November "On the Mall" right in the heart of town. On rainy days, take the kids to see a movie at Regal Cinemas or play a string of bowling at Yankee Lanes just minutes away.
Added bonus, the Beachcomber property is only a 45-minute drive to downtown Portland which was announced as the number one destination for Micro-Breweries in the United States - along with fine dining options, the Maine Mall, enjoy a performance at the Portland Symphony Orchestra, catch a Portland Sea Dog's baseball game (field team for the Boston Red Sox) at Hadlock Field.

Very business-like. Quick to respond when we ran out of gas for the grill.
The house was even better than it appeared online. We were very pleasantly surprised to find the addition of air conditioning when we arrived! Very clean and stocked with all of the basics for an easy start.

The Beachcomber is a delightful house located right on the water. It is perfect for families that like to kayak. The home is spacious and has three floors that allow for group time as well as privacy for down time. The kitchen is very well equipped and great for vacationers that like to cook. The large deck and screened in porch provide great outdoor living space and offer beautiful views overlooking the water. The Beachcomber is truly a gem.

Working with On the Water in Maine was a very positive experience. Paige was extremely helpful with planning our trip and answering questions as they came up. She was always just a phone call away-practically day or night.
The vacation house on Stover's Cove in Harpswell was a gem for all 8 adults and one very energetic and nature loving 3 year old. The house itself presented a very clean, updated open floor plan with well equipped kitchen flowing into the main living room area, large adjoining deck and glass/screened in sunroom. All provided beautiful water views for our family to enjoy together while we were eating meals, board game playing by the glow of the gas fire place on a cool night, star gazing, or catching a favorite movie on the new big screen TV. The new Weber grill on deck was a hit with the grill master among our group! The generously sized and comfortably furnished 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms was perfect for our large group. The young family with the 3 year old utilized the bedroom in the media room which gave them access to the large fenced in yard for early morning exploring. We enjoyed the views from the master bedroom suite with its own deck for not only beautiful sunrises but passing lobster boats, sailboats and star gazing. The skylight window above the bed gave additional starry night views. Easy access to the pebbly beach allowed our family to all try our hand at fishing and kayaking. The cove is perfect for both beginner and experienced kayakers with additional views of the area. We also took full advantage of the easily accessed hiking trails and preserves within short driving distance. The Giant Stairs was the most impressive of the trails we hiked. We spent half a day at Pott's Point investigating the tidal pools and beaches followed by lobster rolls at Este's restaurant. Don't miss a meal or two (or three) out at Erica's lobster shack. Lobsters come in right off the boat, and Tom is a trip.

All information was presented very clearly, including information about payment, directions, and the information in the house appeared complete and thorough as well.
The Beachcomber is a spacious, comfortable home, with lovely beachhouse decor. We liked the position on a small bluff above the shore, with steps leading down. The master bedroom view which faces east to the water was excellent as was its deck. We loved waking up in the morning with the sun coming in through the glass doors to the deck. Main floor deck was very nice as well, with comfortable outdoor furniture and gas grill. And we also enjoyed the screened in porch which was exposed to the late afternoon sun. The view from the deck which looks out to Stovers Point is however partly obscured by a large tree in the yard.

We were very pleased with the staff at On the Water in Maine. Everyone was very responsive regarding everything from initial questions regarding the house before we decided to rent it, to help with details on bedrooms, baby furniture rental, directions to the house, check in, check out, etc. They even installed shades in a few rooms before we arrived since we were concerned about the sunrise awakening us early. It was a great experience.
We had a wonderful stay at the Beachcomber. It is very nicely situated in Harpswell on the water, private (not on the main road) but close to several restaurants, shops, Brunswick, and other coastal attractions. The house is just as nice as it appears in photos on the website; very nicely decorated and maintained, very clean and well designed. The construction, fixtures, and furnishings are really solid and high quality. We loved the screened porch, 2 balconies overlooking the water, large fenced yard, and multiple living areas which were great for 3 generations of our family. Everyone had their own space, and plenty of space to come together as well. We feel really lucky to have found the Beachcomber; it was perfect for our family vacation. Bonus: there's a porcupine that visited the yard a few times. We had a great time watching him/ her eat the flowers on the clover.

Working with your agency was great. This is the second summer we have rented through you and both times the houses exceeded expectations. I have a good level of trust in finding a house and booking through you.
The house, yard and beach exceeded our expectations. The house was extremely well appointed -- great comfortable furniture and everything was very clean!!! We loved sitting on the deck and collecting sea glass on the beach. We enjoyed the screened in room in the evenings after dinner. The beds and linens were extremely comfortable. It was a beautiful house to relax and plenty of room for everyone.

Justin at On the Water in Maine was incredibly thorough and responsive to all questions - via email and phone. I couldn't have asked for a better service experience.
Oh my lord, this property had too many "favorite features" to count, but here are a few: the location - holy moley. The yard out back was stunning, allowing for fabulous lawn games; the walk down to the water was scenic (a very short walk --mere steps-- but a lovely one!), and the beach beautiful. The house is gorgeous and was super clean. (The workmanship in the house is incredible - baseboards, paint, etc.) The beds were unbelievably comfortable - one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in (I wasn't the only one to say this). The towels were luxurious. The washer and dryer worked amazingly well. As my husband said - "you know this property is new because there are [electrical] outlets everywhere you could possibly want one." There was a coffee machine, a keurig, great pans, etc. Everything about this home was fabulous (ok - tiny, minor inconvenience was the internet was spotty - worked most of the time, but came in and out sometimes.) Seriously amazing in general, though.

On The Water is the best rental agency with which I have ever worked. Last spring I had rented a different house and was waiting for summer to come so that we could come up and enjoy it. OTW called, completely on their own initiative, to say they had remembered that in one of our conversations we mentioned three small children. The house we had rented sits on top of a cliff with fairly steep stairs down to a rocky beach.(Seacliffe). OTW had their staff doublecheck and determined that this property wouldn't be good for small children. A check of their other available properties revealed Beachcomber.
My family (3 couples and 3 children) has thoroughly enjoyed this vacation. We had rented two kayaks and kept them on the beach all week. A beautiful sandy beach with tidal pools is a five-minute kayak ride away. The house is perched on a little hill so we have spectacular views of Casco Bay from every room. The house itself was clean with new, comfortable furniture. The kitchen was well-equipped and sheets and towels were ready in every room. The house is big enough that when someone needed some privacy it was readily available. My only complaint is that there is not a table big enough to seat all of us for dinner. My favorite time of the day was watching the sun rise over the water every morning directly in front of us.
