Rooted in a strong connection to the area, family tradition, and a love for lakeside relaxation and stewardship, this cottage was purpose built for family enjoyment and fun. Newly finished in 2014 and decorated with comfortable furnishings and decor offering a step up in quality from the average lake cottage. Refinements such as the glass tile shower with river rock floor to massage your feet, the custom kitchen ready to prepare any meal, or the comfortable king bed with water views will leave you feeling pampered and relaxed. Guests will also enjoy the Sonos wireless sound system, gas grill and beautiful views of the water from nearly every room.
Swimming is great off the dock and there is a swim float in deeper water as well. The new BOTE air dock makes launching boats easy! The main level has a King bedroom and Queen Bedroom, and the walk out basement has two twin beds. Lermond Pond offers great fishing and recreation and the towns of Union, Camden, and Rockland are all within reasonable drive to get to shopping, dining, and sightseeing.
In 2016, a new bathroom was built in the lower level that is reminiscent of a spa. It features a deep relaxing bath tub. Outside there is a new smokeless firepit. There is a designated game area for badminton, horse shoes, bocci balls, corn hole, and croquet. Indoors there is a ping pong table.
BOATS INCLUDED? Yes, the owner of this property provides 3 kayaks, 1 canoe, 2 adult beach cruising bikes and 3 inner tubes. Guests can use the kayaks, canoe, and bikes at their own risk. For additional kayaks and SUPs contact Maine Sport or Ducktrap Kayaks. Both companies can deliver them to the Property. Personal Watercrafts (jet skiis) are not permitted on Lermond Pond. Power boats are allowed on Lermond Pond, but there is no launch from this property and no public launch. However, there is a public launch at Alford Lake, which is a 6 minute drive from the cottage.
FISHING TRIPS: This is a great property to go fishing from. Maine Guide Mike Kinney can take Guests fishing and will pick them right up at the dock in his boat. Contact Mike through his website at http://mikekinneymaineguide.com/ to reserve a guided fishing trip on Lermond Pond.
SECURITY DEPOSIT: No, the owner of this property does not require a security deposit, however, guests are still financially responsible for non-accidental damages at the property.

For the second straight year, we had a great experience working with On the Water in Maine. Any questions I had about booking, check-in, or the general area were answered promptly and completely. We experienced no glitches whatsoever; the whole process could not have been easier.

The house and the grounds are beautiful and lovingly maintained. The lake is everything you'd want from a Maine lake: crystal clear water, woodsy surroundings, and of course a family of loons. Everything that was provided (a lot!) was in great condition...boats and tubes, lakeside seating, kitchen stuff, games, etc. I enjoyed feeding the birds during our stay, and watching and listening to them and the bees buzzing in the hydrangeas. The grounds overall provided a place for everything from corn hole to campfires to stargazing. It was everything we could possibly want.

There were too many 'favorite' features to highlight! I rented it mainly for the swimming and the swim mat off the float was a big hit for my grandchildren. They also loved learning how to play ping pong and the swinging on the big swing in the tree. My husband and I loved exploring the pond in the canoe. I baked a cake without wanting or needing to improvise any utensils. There were oodles of beach towels; usually I need to bring my own.
The house was so well equipped and so lovely to stay in!

We absolutely loved staying in Our Song! The kitchen was so well stocked, that it was very easy to make ANY meal you desired. We also loved the view from the living room, as well as sitting on the dock. The ping pong table came in handy on the one day of solid rain that we had during out stay. As silly as it sounds, we enjoyed feed the chipmunks on the side porch in the evening while sipping our wine! It was a perfect, and VERY relaxing, stay!

Our Song was a great Christmas and New Year's treat! The view of the water, which you enjoy while your'e cooking and lounging, was amazingly beautiful. A full moon danced on the water for us on New Year's Eve. We enjoyed the ping pong, firepit, great kitchen supplies, dishwasher, gas woodstove, spa bathrooms, washer/dryer, soaps, and easy access to Camden. Highly recommend hiking Spruce mountain (cresting 3 mountain peaks with views of Atlantic ocean) off hwy 17 and Tanglewood River trail along the Ducktrap river. Stephanie made it festive with her charming holiday decorations. Pick up Long Grain for dinner one night.

Our time at Our Song was outstanding. The most relaxing vacation I have ever had. In the midst of the pandemic after 3 months of remote learning with my kids while simultaneously working from home, we needed this vacation badly. We spent our time swimming in the gorgeous water of the lake, playing ping pong and board games, and cooking. The kids watched Netflix in their space in the basement after swimming and did their own thing while we listened to music on the Sonos and read. We went nowhere but the grocery store. The beds were extremely comfortable and the room in the Master bedroom can't be beat. The shower and tub were both wonderful. We can't wait to come back.

Perfection! Love the decor - mix of contemporary with primitive antiques. Love the view and functionlaity in layouts, eg many places to eat dinner with family or hangout. Our Song is a wonderful property. It is on Lermond Pond which is quiet except for the loons and ducks which we enjoyed. At night, stars abound and viewing of the milky way is possible. The cabin/camp extremely well appointed with every amenity. A bonus was the inclusion of kayaks and a canoe with the property. Fairly easy to get to the coast for visits to Acadia, Blue Hill and Pemaquid Point.

We loved using the provided kayaks and canoes, and swimming and fishing are great right off the dock.
