Just 18 feet from a secluded, clean and private pebble beach; Castlewood Cottage is cozy, quintessential Maine coast cottage. It sits almost in the beach, but still allows for privacy. It was completely renovated recently and is beautifully appointed. Exquisite detailing throughout! 

New kitchen with granite counter tops, new appliances (dish drawer, microwave drawer, gas stove and oven, refrigerator, Keurig and toaster. Outside there is a stainless steel, gas grill to prepare a perfect meal while taking in the view.

The living room has a 51” Flatscreen Smart TV, Hampton Gas Stove, and a back up Rinnai heating system. The sun porch serves as a dining area, but also has a small day bed for additional sleeping. (1 person)

The main level has a full tub/shower bath, as well as, a cozy bedroom which offers a double bed.

On the second floor, you will find the Primary Suite- a King size bed, two dressers, a large closet, washer and dryer, a 51” flat screen TV, a 1/2 bath, and a comfortable sitting area with breaktaking views.

Throughout the cottage is WiFi, Direct TV, Airplay Surround Sound and Apple TV.

Castlewood Cottage is walking distance to the Owls Head Post Office, the Owls Head Lighthouse and the General Store (home of Food Networks award winning “Seven Napkin Burger.”).
Owls Head is also minutes from downtown Rockland, for all major restaurants, (including Primo, recipient of the 2013 James Beard Award), museums, library, movie theatre, food shopping, galleries and boutiques. The cottage is also 13 miles from downtown Camden Maine; perfect for sunset sails, lunch on the docks and charming shops. 

Drive to Birch State Park, The Samoset Resort & Gold Club in Rockport and the Owls Head Transportation Museum. 

The Knox County Regional Airport : 7 min away
Bus lines to Boston leave from Rockland.

BEACH CLASSIFICATION: We have categorized this property as having or being near a sandy beach. More specifically for this property - there is a private beach steps away. The closest public beaches are Crescent Beach, Birch Point Beach State Park, and Crocketts Beach are within 5 minutes from the property. You can walk a 1/2 mile to Owls Head State Park Lighthouse where there are some small beaches as well.

BOATS INCLUDED? None, however SUP & Kayak Rentals are available in Port Clyde at Port Clyde Kayaks 20 minutes south, or from Maine Sport, 20 minutes north in Rockport.  Both deliver to the property.  Sometimes, if the order is big, Ducktrap Kayaks will deliver as well to this property.   

LINENS & TOWELS: The rental of this property includes all bed linens and towels.  Beds will be made up upon arrival and there will be one bath towel and wash cloth per listed occupancy, two hand towels per bathroom, one bath mat per full bathroom, and two kitchen towels in the kitchen.  Additional bath towels can be rented.

SECURITY DEPOSIT: No, the owner of this property does not require a security deposit, however, guests are still financially responsible for non-accidental damages at the property.
