The Loon Landing cottage is one of those rare properties that sits right on the water and offers all of the peace, tranquility and beauty that people expect when coming to Maine. From the living room you can walk out the door onto the deck and right to the waters edge in five steps. This private location with excellent water frontage is a great property for that perfect vacation getaway. Quantabacook Lake has great bass fishing as well as beautiful water to swim. Paddle boat rentals from local providers are popular at this property!
Some Guests with a lack of good agility have mentioned that it can be a challenge to climb the ladder to the sleeping loft - so keep that in consideration when planning sleeping assignments.
This timber framed cottage has vaulted ceilings with exposed beams, a large stone fireplace, a nicely appointed kitchen, and nicely appointed bedrooms and baths.
A detached guest house, which sits back from the main house, consists of a comfortable second living room, laundry, a Queen bedroom and a full bath.
BEACH CLASSIFICATION: We have categorized this property as having or being near a sandy beach. More specifically for this property - it has a 10 foot wide sandy beach entry area. While small, this is rare in Maine for a lake cottage to have a sandy entry area. This is great for kids and that is why we have classified it as being on a sandy beach.
BOATS INCLUDED? None, however if you are looking to rent kayaks, Maine Sport or Ducktrap Kayaks offer those and can deliver them to the Property.
FISHING TRIPS: This is a great property to go fishing from. Maine Guide Mike Kinney can take Guests fishing and will pick them right up at the dock in his boat. Contact Mike through his website at http://mikekinneymaineguide.com/ to reserve a guided fishing trip on Quantabacook Lake.
CLEANING FEE: Yes, a $120 cleaning fee applies. Additional cleaning beyond the normal 4 hours will be charged at $35 per hour.

On the Water in Maine covered all the bases. I found the company to be very organized & very responsive to my questions.
Very comfortable home with everything needed to cook a gourmet meal if you should so desire. We were a family of 6 & couldn't have been happier with the set up. Lovely deck, dock & views from the glass sided home. Great little beach to pull kayaks up onto. The loft with 2 single beds worked well for the 2 teenage girls. We all had a ball swimming, boating, fishing, reading, cooking & playing games at night. The teenagers learned how to water ski there.

The rental agreement was extremely detailed.
The sunny deck and flower boxes were so inviting as a haven to relax every day seeing the water only feet away. My 90 year old mother took her nap out there while my great niece and nephew, 2 year old and 3 1/2 year old played in the water.

On the Water in Maine was so great to work with. Everyone was super friendly, and answered all of our questions. Justin answered the phone on a Sunday, and we asked a question that he wasn't sure about, and he called back within five minutes! Great agency!!!
Loon Landing was by far the best place we have ever rented. The house was amazing, with an amazing view of the lake, very clean, and very peaceful. I will definitely be returning!

Everyone was very pleasant to deal with. My initial dealings indicated that I could rent outboards and then I was told they no longer rented on this lake. I had a terrible time finding Maine Boat Rental. I must have tried 8-10 places before I was successful on my own. I have left a brochure for you in the smaller cabin. Maine Boat Rental, China.
We loved Loon Landing. The cabins were beautifully furnished and landscaped. The deck overlooked a gorgeous lake with lovely sunsets.

This is our second stay at Loon Landing, and it will not be our last! The house is bright, comfortable, and conveniently located, it has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The lake is peaceful and relaxing, and the open space and huge windows bring nature right indoors. Such a great place to unwind. September is a quiet month and the weather was perfect.

On the Water handles things very efficiently and was a pleasure to work with.
Loon Landing is right on the water, the perfect place for a morning coffee on the deck and an kayak trip to visit with the loons and watch the sun rise or fall. The house is furnished and decorated with great care, and having a separate cabin for visitors or just doing the laundry is wonderful. We couldn't have been more pleased with our choice and hope to return again and again. The tranquility was truly amazing.

We rent houses frequently, this is the first time the actual house was better than the photos! Beautiful cottage on a beautiful lake. Peaceful, relaxing. Amazing stars and sunsets steps away from the cottage. Tastefully and thoughtfully decorated. Very comfortable place to stay.

Communication Is fantastic! Ben is most helpful and is our favorite "go to" guy. Our 4th year renting with On the Water in Maine.
Loon Landing is the best! Provides all of the comforts of home plus the solitude of really being out in the woods. The loons woo you to sleep at night. If you want to visit a quaint village for some "home cooking" and crafts or visit the coast for some ocean air and seafood it's all there. Our fourth year at this property. We will be back!

Working with "On the Water in Maine" is simple, clean, and efficient. Couldn't ask for any better service.
The loon landing property was fantastic with a secluded feeling without being in the wilderness. The buildings were new and well maintained with huge windows to view the gorgeous scenery. The property is well situated near the coast and had a perfect location for watching nice summer sunsets. The lake was pristine and perfect for kayaking and loon/eagle watching. It was a charming experience all around.

A very positive experience-no complaints. On an extremely windy, rough water afternoon we returned from a day in Camden to find our little fishing boat that we rented from On the Water in Maine flooding with water. Ben arrived about 5 minutes after our call to bail out the boat. Thank you!
Whoever designed your little house-they truly did an excellent job-love the stone floors especially! The view The view The view!!! Best lakeview ever because of all of the glass facing the lake. We also noted all of the attention to quality detail in every single room-everywhere you looked it was a perfect lakefront vacation home.

Most everything with On the Water in Maine was handled online, which is very convenient. All procedures were fine and efficient. We loved the glass windows overlooking the lake and we were tucked away from any neighbors for quiet and privacy. The house, guest house, and view were amazing.
The property is just beautiful and we are thankful to the Mays for sharing their special spot! We loved the lake and the quiet...both houses were lovely. We hope to come again!

Everyone responded and was very pleasant when we spoke or emailed about anything. The property is beautiful, the sunsets are manficant, and the fishing is the best.
You have a beautiful property and we enjoyed it again for our second year. I am a painter and my husband loves to fish. We both enjoyed our hobbies while we stayed at loon landing. I left a special entry in your guest book for you. My husband caught (and released) around 30-40 fish a day!

Lincolnville is on the coast with lakes, ponds and the ocean beaches - while Searsmont is inland from Lincolnville and has several great ponds and lakes with great fishing. At popular Lincolnville Beach, sections of sand and pebbles (depending on the tide) draw visitors for play and relaxation. The shallow water is ideal for wading on a warm day.
