Camden is the premier location in Mid-Coast Maine and Chestnut Street is arguably the nicest street. Built in 1876, with much of its classic charm and appeal intact, the Chestnut Cottage enjoys many modern updates throughout - including new kitchen appliances for 2016. A relatively open floor plan includes a great kitchen for entertaining, a dining table to host the whole family, and a tasteful mix of new and antique furnishings. Traditional, somewhat steep, stairs lead from the main entrance hall to the north side second-floor bedrooms and new tub/shower bathroom. The first-floor guest bathroom is all new as well and includes a shower and washer/dryer. From the family room large flat screen TV and comfortable furnishings, including a Queen pull-out sofa, you go up to the master suite (new gas stove and carpet for 2018) with Queen bed, sitting area, and en-suite shower bathroom. The master suite, living areas, and guest bedrooms are all air-conditioned with a brand new system for ultimate comfort on warm summer days. The family room carpet was replaced for the 2017 season.
Take a step back in time as you walk historic Chestnut Street which begins right in the center of town at the Common. Huge trees arch over the street and frame a remarkable collection of antique New England homes, many with front porches and barns, creating a shady retreat in summer. The house sits just two blocks from the center of Camden and Camden Harbor with its shopping, restaurants, and harbor park. Chestnut Cottage is also very close walking distance to the Laite Beach & Park. You will be delighted with all of the area amenities you have access to within easy reach.

On the Water in Maine was great. I mainly worked with Kelsey, but Paige and Justin (owner) were extremely responsive when we needed something. I know it stings to pay the booking fee for going through an agency, but with this company, you really get something for your money.
Chestnut Cottage is one of the most pleasant and well equipped vacation rentals I have ever stayed in. The owner has really thought of everything. The house is furnished tastefully. The kitchen is particularly well equipped and organized. We rarely needed a kitchen appliance or gadget that wasn't provided. I really appreciated how well stocked the house was with "getting started supplies" like soap, detergents, spices and staples, and paper products. All bedrooms had ceiling fans and good storage for clothing so you didn't have to live out of a suitcase. The combination lock was nice because everyone had access to the house and we didn't have to keep up with who had the key. The location was great. It was nice to be able to walk to town, and even to Rockport to Graffam's Lobster Shack a couple of times. I have stayed in dozens of vacation rentals and this was one of the best without a doubt.

On the Water in Maine is definitely our agency of choice. The properties are top notch and the rates fair. I appreciate the level of service offered without being intrusive.
Very responsive when there is a problem.
Fantastic location. Wonderful front deck. Kitchen well appointed. One thing we all noticed, the kitchen sink does not seem to be sealed.
Dining room family room back deck/grill makes for a very nice gathering area.
Overall, the house was very comfortable and welcoming. One of the nicest rentals we have stayed in.
The beds in the old wing of the house were sub standard. Singles very firm and the queen sagged to the middle. We all agreed that we would be willing to pay a little more in rate for better beds.
Only would comment that the pull out queen in the family room is right in the middle of things and not all that practical. Too bad there isn't a pull out in the living room which is a bit more sequestered. Also, as stated above, we do expect higher quality beds.

We loved our time at the Chestnut Cottage. Our favorite part of the house was its location near the center of town.

As always, ONTWM handled everything professionally, thoroughly and conveniently. Always a pleasure to rent from Justin and Tiffany.
Chestnut Cottage was all updated with some elements of the old house evident; such as the door bell, light switches, and of course the steep stairs! The updated suite over the garage was large and comfortable and afforded some quiet time for us grandparents.

On the Water in Maine was easy to work with to plan our vacation stay. The concierge service was very helpful. Be sure to call them with any questions during your stay.
Chestnut Cottage is beautiful. The furnishings and decor are very comfortable and relaxing. We especially enjoyed sitting on the deck for coffee in the mornings. We cooked out on the grill on two evenings during our stay. Those were two of our favorite meals. The property included everything we could have needed for our stay...all you need are your personal items and food.

The house was very comfortable and clean and the kitchen was well stocked. The location was very convenient for walking into town or easily driving to nearby towns/attractions.
