The lake was beautiful; we enjoyed the loons every day. The house was perfect for us and well appointed. We especially enjoyed the porch when it rained. This is a beautiful and well-built house. Thanks for the game table downstairs and the extra blankets in the closets. We would love to stay again.

This is a perfect cottage for families or couples. The kitchen is well stocked, the beds are comfortable, and the screen porch was the favorite sleeping place for our 17 year old. The flowers around the property are beautiful, and our kids enjoyed playing badminton on all the sunny days.

Emily at On the Water in Maine went out of her way to answer any questions and give details about the house before I reserved it. On the Water in Maine is very thorough in getting you in and out smoothly with a lot of information and reminders so the trip was easier. The house was nicer and bigger than I expected from the site info and photos.

Property Owner - I loved you home and your decorations. I really appreciated the well supplied kitchen since I like to cook but fear many tenants are not careful with others property. I hope other tenants don't spoil or remove anything. Found it very comfortable and much nicer an bigger than I expected from the website.

Everything was very thoughtful and considerate. Both adult and child amenities were extremely well done and beyond what one typically sees in these situations. The stocked cabinets of some basic grocery items was a real surprise and came in handy on occassion. Although I didn't avail myself of it, the botttle of Crown Royal was an exceptional touch. The only negatives we can think of are minor. The problem with the rain splashing in, which we were warned of and asked to close doors and windows, is annoying. Spent an entire rainy day indoors and it was uncomfortably stuffy with everything shut. Maybe that design flaw could be corrected? The outside chairs are not the most comfortable if one wants to have a drink or snack outside. A small table on the lower porch, lime the one upstairs, would be a nice addition for an outdoor breakfast or drink. In general, we found everything to be excellent, really enjoyed the house and had a great week.

The setting of this property is lovely. Watching the harbor activity is endlessly interesting and provides a great visual field. We loved the lawn and dock. The outside porch eating area is terrific.

Our adult "kids" kayaked. Thanks, Justin at On the Water in Maine, for the delivery and pick up. We visited art and pottery galleries. Did the lobster expedition and enjoyed and learned. Guests did the Puffin tour and saw many and other great birds. Most of all, we ate well and soaked up the ambience of your great state.

The views were just beautiful and way beyond our wildest imagination. Every moment offered a different seascape...every vantage point a winner. The deep covered wrap around porch accommodated on both sunny and rainy days. The house was well-stocked with everything one needs and the kitchen offered every tool for the novice or seasoned chef. We are both very well travelled, have seen many sights and stayed in marvelous settings. Sanctuary is a stand out in every way. We loved our stay both in Northport/Belfast and at this lovely home and would eagerly return... We'd be interested in renting this again next year for at least two weeks/last week of July - first week August. Thanks!

My favorite was sitting on the front porch early morning with my coffee in hand viewing the charming site of boats on the water, with perfect weather! Oh bliss!!

Thanks so much OTWIM - We loved the Maple Island Lodge, it was well taken care of and had everything we needed. Very private but neighbors spoke if you passed them on the road or water. The guys in our group loved the included kayaks.
