Having rented villas, chalets, cottages and yachts in the US, UK, mainland Europe and the Middle East, we can comfortably say that On The Water in Maine is one of the most professionally run agencies we have used in our travels. We previously used other companies for Maine rentals and, based on our positive experience with On the Water in Maine, we'll never look back!

The Rough House is a charming, up-to-date, beautifully presented Maine cottage that is furnished with unique antiques. We felt privileged to stay there with our young family. The serenity of the environment is noteworthy. It is located on a private road and the surrounding area is excellent for peaceful walks and running. We regularly visited the quiet beach for beach combing, swimming and relaxing. Rockport center, Rockland and Camden are all very close. We look forward to visiting the Rough House next year!

Had a great time! The house was perfect for a family of 4. Loved the day bed in the porch - my younger son slept on it. The kitchen was very well equipped. I think we were the first to use some of the equipment/utensils so it was in good shape. I know not everyone makes use of the full kitchen in a rental but we sure did. Obviously the owners like to cook too. The location was perfect - so close to town yet quiet at night.

The folks at On the Water in Maine were very professional. Answered all our questions in a timely manner. They were great. Plan on renting from them next year. I have already started to look for places for 2016.

We had our 2 grandchildren with us so the fenced in yard was especially appreciated. The beachcomber was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the sun porch, very relaxing. My grandson loved bose radio, dance party on the deck.Great place

The staff of On the Water in Maine were very accommodating and quick to respond to questions. I needed to have an adjustment made for a family member's disability, and the staff were very kind, and obtained a piece of equipment to make the stay easier. This took the worry out of the equation for us.

We really enjoyed sitting on the porch, the view of the harbor was excellent, watching the boats and ferries come and go, and the bonus of having a bald eagle visit the property several times, was awesome! I'd say we spent most of our time on the porch. We had our whole family here, 3 generations, and it worked well for everyone. The grounds are just beautiful and with a large lawn to play wiffle ball and football. The sunsets were stunning. The kitchen was so easy to work in, and well appointed, plenty of room for everyone to work. I recommend The Dip Net in town for a casual and delicious meal, the ice cream shop was delish, coffee at The Ink Squid was great, and then you can't beat the breakfast sandwich at the General Store. The kids rented kayaks from the shop in town and had a great experience. Thank you for some great memories, I plan on coming back!

This is our second year working with On the Water and we are very pleased with all of our encounters.

Great Surprise. This is a newly renovated cottage. Ideal for a couple or small family. CLEAN, CLEAN with full amenities. Our view of the lake was complete. Looks like a fisherman's paradise as the osprey and eagle were regular visitors. Ducklings, birdlife and chipmunks rounded out the wildlife. Very private from neighbors. Although a little "weedy" for swimming (water and air temp still a little cool) it is close to the Village swimming hole which looked like fun. Easy access to US RT 1 and Damariscotta Village with good shopping.

The agency was helpful and very professional. Instructions were provided that answered any questions that we had. Great experience all around.

The property is beautifully situated overlooking the harbor. The views from the house are wonderful. The house is charming and very comfortable and spacious. The property had a great deck and outside eating area. Kraal so has a sundeck and water access to dock a boat. Great location near town and near restaurants.

We had a very positive experience working with On the Water in Maine, and I will certainly rent with them again. They were prompt and responsive, but we really didn't have any problems that required additional assistance. The property was exactly what we desired, and we were happy for all the amenities provided! Thanks for making our dream Maine vacation a reality!

The Sunset Cottage is appropriately named. Imagine yourself amid the most picturesque, peaceful waterfront scene from a well-appointed, light filled, spacious and thoughtfully furnished home, then imagine the most brilliant and dynamic sunset you've ever witnessed, and you will understand the joy that we felt every day and night that we stayed at the cottage. The area is fun-filled, beautiful, ready for summer pastimes. The town of Bath has everything a vacationer might need. Other scenic and personable towns such as Boothbay Harbor and Rockland are only 40-65 minute drives of green and rolling hills, farm stands, and consignment shops for treasures. Delicious food abounds. The house is clean, well-tended, with lovely boaty beachy artwork and traditional decor. We had plenty of room for our group of 8, with two young children. The grounds were delightful and exciting to explore, especially for my boys! The trees and glimmering rock boulders are covered in lichen, fireflies flirt in the night air, and fishing boats drop traps and buoys in the nearby waters in the earliest hours of the day. With a dock and rocky tidal beach on the property, we were able to rent sea kayaks and explored the waters around us. I hesitate to describe all the great things about this rental property, it is like a secret gem I may want to keep to myself!

Everything went very smooth in arranging for this vacation through On the Water in Maine. There were no bumps in the road.

WOW is the word that comes to mind when describing the setting of this property. When you rent something online, it is always a gamble. With this one we hit the jackpot on setting!

All around just great - great place - great cottage

Oh my gosh!! What a fantastic cottage. The view is stunning and it's very peaceful. Extremely comfy cottage with great bed and kitchen. All shopping is in close proximity as well as great coastal towns to visit. Fabulous beach and wonderful deck that makes it feel like your own private home. We will be back for sure and highly recommend this property.

On the Water in Maine Inc. was great. Everything from the initial house descriptions on their website to addressing questions during our stay was top notch. Ben was very accessible; he even answered his phone on a Sunday when he was out fishing! I would recommend them to anyone.

The house was exactly as pictured and loved the short walk through the woods to the rocky beach. Couldn't have asked for a better place to vacation!

Our Song is a really nice property on Lermond Pond. The lake is small and pretty quiet in June. It is a great lake for canoeing and fishing.

On the Water in Maine is one of the better vacation property management companies I have worked with. The customer service is terrific. Meg was always cheerful and responsive.

This is a great Maine "cottage". The water views are even better than what is shown online. The home was clean, quiet, and very comfortable. My guests were delighted with their first Maine experience!

The house was lovely and the water views spectacular. We could hear the loons at night and on our last day, three loons passed by our cottage - mama, poppa & baby. My granddaughter especially enjoyed seeing them so close. The kitchen was very well outfitted with everything you need to make you stay comfortable. We all loved the ping pong table in screened-in-porch. In fact, that was the deciding factor for renting this place. Everyone played and had a good time. The house was well stocked with board games, etc.

Everyone at On the Water in Maine was very nice and extremely helpful, especially Justin. he went WAY above and beyond to make sure we were happy with everything, especially with the boat we rented from him for our stay. we have never been treated with such care and understanding. Kudos to you Justin!!!! Kudos!

The house was nice, clean and inviting to relaxation. After having to drive 6 hrs we felt immediately at ease...except how fast we could get out on the deck and sip on a drink overlooking the lake/pond. Very peaceful.

On the Water in Maine manages all the details extremely well; the house was neat, clean, fully stocked. When we phoned on a couple of small issues, OTWIM was fully and immediately responsive in every way.

This was our second stay in the Jones Cottage, and we enjoyed it just as much this time. The view across the harbor is unparalleled. We love having the float, making it easy to store and launch our kayaks whenever we wish without carting them to distant launch areas. The house is neat, clean, well-furnished, roomy, and comfortable, with an excellent kitchen and clean, large bathrooms. The neighborhood is quiet, neighbors are friendly. A splendid vacation spot.

Every conversation we had with On the Water in Maine was great. They couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. On a scale of 1-10 they rate a 12!

My husband & I rented this house to see if it would be a good place to bring our grown children and their families next summer for a family vacation. We had a wonderful time and the house is terrific. Everything we needed was there, clean and in good shape. The only concern I have is the main living room only has a smaller sofa and a wooden rocking chair for seating. The house is large and really would benefit from an L shaped sofa so you would have seating for at least six instead of three or four. You can see the tv from the dining table, but we would use it more for conversation. That would be more comfortable on the sofa. The yard and deck are beautiful with plenty of seating. It feels very private and is extremely quiet. We ate many meals on the deck and enjoyed reading outside. On the Water in Maine could not be nicer to work with and the people we spoke with were always cheerful and very helpful. This was an extremely pleasant experience in every way. We are really looking forward to coming back.

This property had everything we needed. Great location - very peaceful, but turn right or left at the end of the driveway and you were brought right into a quaint Maine town. The view from the front deck was wonderful and the beds were very comfortable.

Love the 'quirck-i-ness' about the place! Two kitchen sinks for prep are a real plus in seafood boils. Bedrooms off the main part of house are quiet & is a plus. Love the old photos & trying to piece together the original 'family' story...would love to know about all of them! Decor was attractive in living space & bdrms. View off deck & from all rooms is splendid. When looking for a place for our family we look for plenty of seating in living area, which this place had; also need sufficient beds, which we also had.
